Hall House – aka Manor Farm House

We’re indebted to Nottinghamshire historians who have been so assiduous in preserving and researching records for a very full account of Manor Farm House which can be found here.

When first built by Francis Hacker senior (a ‘gent of Colston Bassett’ and father of soldier and regicide Col Francis Hacker) it was known as Hall House. The Hacker logo was a woodpecker on a tree stump – which chimes nicely with our having an occasional woodpecker visitor nesting in the Lime Tree in the front garden.
